Form Meets Function

A wheel based potter making functional and aesthetic pottery with the goal of bringing form and function together to create beautiful pottery that serves a purpose. I hand craft each piece and work with a variety of tools and materials to finish and decorate my pieces.

The inspiration for my work is derived largely from the outdoor environments where I spend a great deal of time fishing, hiking and camping – in particular the streams and rivers that cut through the landscapes. This influences not only the way I approach form, but surface as well.

About / Contact

A hands on artist from a young age, I grew up in Pennsylvania surrounded by the great outdoors and all its inspirations.

I currently hold two BFA’s in Ceramics and Illustration as well as minor focuses in design and art history. My work revolves mostly around things I see and experience as well as my passion for fishing and hiking. The forms of 2D and 3D art come together in some cases, and in others diverge. My long standing love for the outdoors and for fly fishing are dominant themes that often find their way into my artworks. Nature is an abundant and endless source of inspiration which never fails to refill my creative reservoir.

Because I not only love to make objects but use them as well, my view on pottery is that of a practical user – a piece is that is interesting yet uncomfortable is unlikely to be used. Because of this I look to design and create pieces that grab the eye and indulge the touch.
